Terms of Use

Rina Piano turns sheet music into something you can practise on screen. These terms explain what we promise, what we ask of you, and what happens to your music.

Using the app

Rina Piano is free. You may use it for your own practice, teaching, or study.

You need an account only if you want your work to survive losing your phone. Without one the app works in full — your pieces simply live on the device and nowhere else.

Your sheet music stays yours

Anything you scan, record, or correct belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it, and we do not publish it, sell it, or show it to other people.

We store your pieces so the app can serve them back to you and so an account can restore them on a new phone. That is the whole purpose.

What you may scan

You are responsible for having the right to the sheet music you upload. Most published sheet music is under copyright, even when a printed copy sits on your own piano. Scanning music you own a copy of, for your own practice, is generally accepted in most countries — redistributing it is not.

Do not upload sheet music you have no right to copy, and do not use share links to hand out copyrighted editions.

Sharing

A share link is a personal handover — a student to a teacher, a friend to a friend. It is not publication:

• The address is random and unguessable, and search engines are asked not to index it.
• The web page shows only the title. The notes themselves stay in the app.
• You can revoke a link at any time.

Please keep it that way. Using share links to distribute copyrighted music to strangers is a misuse of the feature, and we may remove links used that way.

The catalog

Catalog pieces come from works in the public domain. They are read-only: you can add one to your backpack and practise it, but the shared original is not editable.

What we do not promise

Recognition is not perfect and never will be. Photographs of sheet music are read at roughly 60% accuracy, printed PDFs at roughly 85%; the catalog is exact because nothing is recognised. Always check the result against your original before relying on it. The app marks doubtful measures precisely because it cannot guarantee them.

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, and we are not liable for practice time lost to a mistaken note.

Ending it

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Doing so erases the account and the server's copy; the pieces on your phone stay where they are.

We may suspend accounts used to distribute copyrighted material or to attack the service.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date above changes when we do, and the current text always lives at this address.
