Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect an email address if you choose to sign in, we store the sheet music you scan so we can give it back to you, and we count how many devices use the app. Nothing else. No advertising, no trackers, no selling anything to anyone.

What we collect

Your sheet music. Pages you photograph or upload, the recognised notes, and your corrections. We keep them so the app can serve them back and so an account can restore them on a new phone.

Your email address — only if you sign in. That is the entire account: an address, and optionally a name if you enter one. There is no password, so there is no password of yours for us to leak.

Usage counts. A random identifier generated on your device, a session identifier, whether the app was opened or closed, the app version, and the platform (Android or iOS). We use it to answer two questions: how many devices use Rina Piano, and for how long.

That identifier is generated randomly by the app. It is not your advertising ID, your device serial, or anything issued by Apple or Google, and it cannot be linked back to you. Clearing the app's data makes it a new device as far as we are concerned.

What we do not collect

No location. No contacts. No photos beyond the pages you deliberately add. No microphone. No advertising identifiers. No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs of any kind.

We do not sell or rent personal data. There is no one to sell it to and nothing worth selling.

Who else sees it

Nobody sees your sheet music but you — unless you create a share link, and then only the people you give it to. Even then the web page shows the title alone; the notes stay in the app.

Two services process data on our behalf and no one else:

• Our own servers, which store your pieces and account.
• An email provider, which delivers your sign-in code. It sees your address and nothing more.

Recognition runs on our own infrastructure. Where a language model is used to read a doubtful measure, it receives an image of that portion of the page — not your identity, not your account.

How long we keep it

Your pieces stay until you delete them. Your account stays until you delete it.

Sign-in codes are deleted or expire within 15 minutes. Usage counts are kept in aggregate; they carry no identity to begin with.

Deleting everything

You can delete your account from inside the app: Account → Delete the account. This erases the account and the server's copy of your pieces immediately. The pieces on your phone stay on your phone, because they are yours and we are not in the business of wiping your work.

Children

Rina Piano is suitable for all ages, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Signing in requires an email address; if a child uses the app without signing in, we hold nothing personal about them at all.

Your rights

You may ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. Deletion is available in the app and takes effect at once; for anything else write to us.

If you are in the EU or UK, our basis for processing is the contract we have with you (running the app you asked for) and our legitimate interest in knowing how many people use it.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above changes when we do, and the current text always lives at this address.
